Matheu has been attending Faith Bible Church for 16 years. He was born and raised in the Joliet area and currently resides in New Lenox. During his time at Faith he has served in various ways within the music and student ministries, but this the first time he's served as a deacon.

Matheu has worked in camp ministry leadership at Lake Ann Camp in Michigan for the past two summers. While at Lake Ann, Matheu noted that he learned a lot about God's sovereignty. The Lord brought people into his life at Lake Ann who shared similar life experiences. He saw how God has used the ordained trials of his own life to shape him into the person he is today—one who can more effectively minister to others because of the things the Lord has providentially planned for his life.

Recently engaged, he and his fiancée, Tamarah, are planning to be married in September. When he's not working as a technician at Plug Power, he enjoys carpentry, volleyball, riding and working on motorcycles, camping, and being carried by Pastor Kevin through video games on Xbox One.
